Academic Publishing

I offer comprehensive editorial services, including academic publishing. My specialty are the complex editorial projects within the area of health services policy and research, such as special issues of journals, books and reports. I especially enjoy working on special issues (also known as special supplements), including managing the peer review process. Some of the services I offer:

• Defining and narrowing the scope of the special issue
• Creating the tentative time-table for the special issue
• Soliciting and conducting the internal reviews
• Initiating the submission process
• Keeping track of the papers during peer review
• Working with the Guest Editor on his/her introduction and other related issues.

I also offer services for the individual authors. If you are a graduate student, health care project manager, or health practitioner wanting to submit your work to an academic journal, I’m sure I can be of assistance. Specifically, I can help you with:

• Choosing a journal that will target the proper audience for your material and fit your career trajectory
• Writing up a summary, including key messages
• Formatting the actual submission based on the journal’s requirements
• Deciphering the reviews and response letter once the peer review process is complete
• Suggesting a co-author if the response letter asks for that (health services policy and research area)
• Providing a list of potential informal reviews that would help you strengthen the revised paper
